Let’s face it: it’s about to be miserable in this place we call home. While some areas are worse than others, let’s get into the nitty gritty of the three things we at The Auto Shop think you need in your car at all times in order to survive a notorious Phoenix summer.
A phone charger and portable battery pack
While you can always replace a car battery, or get your vehicle repaired from its air conditioning on up, you’ll need a working phone to dial a tow truck, your spouse or friend to pick you up, or your roadside assistance.
There are many kinds you can select from based on your needs and cellphone maker, but being without a way to contact help is totally avoidable, and can make the difference between you getting where you need to go and potentially being in an emergency situation.
Always travel with water
From 48-ounce jugs of water to cleaned-out milk cartons, you’re going to want enough water to be able to get you through traffic, a potential breakdown, or even to top off a dry radiator reservoir. (Just make sure your engine has cooled down before you open the cap!)
It’s no secret that we live in the middle of the desert. Phoenix is a great place to be for another 8 months, but from around May to September it’s going to stay incredibly warm. Especially for out-of-towners, this is no exaggeration.
The Auto Shop’s phone number: (602) 256-6164
You’d be surprised at how few people know how to get in touch with their mechanic or preferred auto service center in Phoenix. Even just by keeping our number in your phone, you’ll never have to figure out how to get a hold of Mickey Hermes, our friendly general manager, or any of our other ASE-certified vehicle repair technicians.
In fact, the next time you look for a “mechanic near me” in Phoenix, AZ we hope you’ll give us a call!
Even just talking to someone about the noises your car is making or what you think it’s doing can help. And helping with car repair in Phoenix is what we do best!
