The Auto Shop

We’re moving!

Downtown Phoenix has been home to The Auto Shop since we opened our doors in 1979. However, the City of Phoenix has restructured this area and it is now called “Phoenix Central City Village Downtown.” Unless a business is “grandfathered in” as a property owner, any automotive industry related business has been zoned out of this area.

Therefore, our lease at our location at 901 N. Central Ave. is up and cannot be renewed.

Here’s the good news.

When looking for a new location, our first concern was finding one nearby; to best service downtown businesses and their employees, as we have done for the last 38 years. Our new location is within two miles of our current location, on a major road, and as close to Downtown Phoenix and the city center as we always have been.

It’s our hope even that our new location will be even more convenient for our customers.

At 1705 E. Jefferson St. Phoenix, AZ 85034 we found a property in which an automotive repair center had started construction but was never completed and has been abandoned since 2005.

This building, in Phoenix’s historic East Lake Community, has been in our possession for the last two years and is nearly complete. We were incredibly fortunate to have found this property we will call home, and eagerly look forward to continuing to provide first-class automotive care, repair and maintenance from this location to any who are looking for the very best mechanics in Phoenix combined with friendly service and affordable pricing.

The Auto Shop is also proud to participate in the city’s current plans to redevelop the East Lake Community and will continue to support this renewal project. We will be one of the first state-of-art, energy efficient, and environmentally conscience businesses in this community.

Our new facility will enable us to be more efficient on many levels. We’ll be able to complete service faster and at even more competitive rates, with many more additional benefits.

We hope that our move does not inconvenience any of our loyal or new customers, or in any way discourage them from our services. And rest assured we will continue to shuttle our customers to and from their home or place of work as we have offered since the beginning. We are still committed to being your one-stop automotive repair facility.

Please do not hesitate to call us during this time with any questions or concerns!

Thank you for you continued patronage,

Dan Dumbauld, Founder and Owner
